The Village Recorder is one of the most famous recording studios in the country/world and PrimalScream has been blessed to be a resident there since 2005. Being in the center of where incredible bands, singer-songwriters, musicians, composers, and the like are recording has been a great asset to PrimalScream over the years, and as well to our clients!

The Village has been the home to recordings by artists such as Lady Gaga, Oasis, T Bone Burnett, Coldplay, Danny Elfman, Kiss, Madonna, Kelly Clarkson, John Mayer, as well as icons throughout the years such as Aerosmith, The Allman Brothers, Mariah Carey, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Alice Cooper, Elvis Costello, The Doors, Bob Dylan, The Eagles, George Harrison, Elton John, Tom Jones, B.B. King, John Lennon, Little Richard, The Smashing Pumpkins, Ringo Starr among many others.

The Village is home to a vintage Neve 8048 console as well as two Neve 88r consoles and is renowned for its extensive inventory of all types of recording equipment including vintage microphones and outboard gear.

Many major motion picture and television soundtracks have also been recorded at the studio, including Crazy Heart, Ace Ventura, Dead Poets Society, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, The Simpsons, Toy Story 2, Walk the Line, The X Files, Wall-E, Revolutionary Road, The Shawshank Redemption and others.

The Village is also home to KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic radio show, hosted by Jason Bentley.
